Almond

Almond (Prunus amygdalus) is a woody plant that can grow up to 4 meters in height and belongs to the rose family. It originates from the Middle East, from where it spread throughout the Mediterranean. There are two varieties of this stone fruit, bitter and sweet almond. Sweet, or in short, almonds were grown in the Middle East 3500 thousand years ago and were used to make oil, butter, flour and various spreads. Today, this stone fruit is widely used in both nutrition and medicine. This stone fruit contains a number of useful minerals, namely calcium, iron, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, but also large amounts of vitamin E, B complex vitamins, niacin, riboflavin and thiamine. Its beneficial effect on the human body is multiple. Regular consumption of almonds contributes to bone strength, better functioning of the nervous and endocrine systems, regulation of blood pressure and improvement of vitality and endurance of the organism.
